Went here for the first time Friday nite. OMG! The place is dirty, gross!!! First thing we noticed was the dumpster in the parking lot, almost made us sick. The stench of rotten milk was horrible ! I suggest they either move it or empty It & clean it daily. Inside although "quaint" was also dirty & sticky. Ate our ice cream out front but the trash cans were equally gross. We took out if town company there and were quite embarrassed. Last nite we went to the ice cream shop in downtown Punta Gorda, spotless & extremely pleasant--- So our first & only visit to scoops will be our last and obviously we won't be recommending it.

Good ice cream. Staff experience - Meh. Seemed a bid disinterested in exceptional customer service. Don't offer a taste sample as most other shops do - (which really helps to try new flavors) Outdoor and indoor seating. Fun / funky in a good way - indoor decor with all sorts of car license plates adorning the walls. Easy to find right on Tamiami Trail/US 41 on the right when heading south, very colorful billboard/sign. would recommend if you're nearby -

Small place but amazing ice cream and decent prices ! Really nice, small mom & pop shop . My dad had a craving for ice cream while visiting family and we stopped here and didn't regret it . I had a brownie sundae with cookie dough ice cream. Delicious!

I can't believe I haven't written my review for here yet. I first stopped here back in '05 or '06 when my aunt first moved here from nj. It left an imprint on my memory, homemade ice cream!!! I first tried their coffee ice cream, and was in heaven. Since moving down here last summer, I've been here more times than I like to admit. I have to confess: I'm addicted to their birthday cake ice cream. It's to die for. A second favorite is the butter finger ice cream (with chunks of butter fingers in it) with caramel sauce in a waffle bowl. I do agree that the staff is a bit cold and unpleasant at times, but they are always busy so it sure doesn't keep the people away. The drive thru is crazy, because how do you decide what flavor to get without looking at your choices up close and personal. I love and hate the fact I live so close to Scoops, because I am constantly fighting the temptation to stop almost every time I drive by.

Not like it used to be, but more expensive. The ice cream is just not as good anymore and the last couple times we've been something in the order has been wrong. Thankfully there are 2 new frozen yogurt places and one new ice cream place opening soon in North Port

Yelp has this located wrong. It is about 1/2 further west on us41 at the corner on Dalgren & on the west side not east side as map shows! $8.00 for a 2 scoop soft serve & a medium twist. Goooood stuff.

Every time I'm in town no matter the season, I have to visit Sweet Scoops! It is a small and quaint little locally owned business. Their ice cream selections are great. My absolute fav is the birthday cake. It has real chunks of cake icing mixed in. Delish! They also have treats for your dogs. During the summer months this place is always packed with a line out of the door or an extra long line of cars in the drive-thru. It's my first stop coming into town and my last stop out.

This place is amazing. The only downside is the lines when it's busy. I always love getting the butterfinger ice cream. But there are like 1000 different kinds!!!! Don't pass this place up!

I rarely write reviews on places, I felt I needed to inform the public on what goes on here and my multiple experiences giving this place the benefit of the doubt. This place isn't what it used to be. The guy who works there is extremely rude and so is the lady who usually stands outside with a clipboard to rush you to take your order in the drive through. You can't even see the sign for what flavors, sizes, or prices and will stare at you until you are ready even if there is only one car at the window. Sometimes she's inside, if you go there to see for yourself, I'm sure you will identify who is who real fast. I used to go there all the time. I enlisted in the military, came back 5 years later and went there with my family. At first, I figured they were just having a bad day. I went there a few more times hoping the customer service would change and it didn't. I was wondering why it isn't as popular anymore. The guy that works there is a ------- and his attitude didn't change. Needless to say, I stopped going there with my family. We were going out in a good mood and came back with ice cream we didn't want to eat anymore we were so disappointed by the way we were treated. The guy really has some mouth on him. I would recommend you to stay away from this place and go to Venice for ice cream or any other place you find. If you go here, there is a high chance your good time you are having will be ruined by their customer service. It's not a passive rudeness either, it's directed at multiple individual customers and each one gets disrespected by the guy 90% of the time in front of their family as he rolls his eyes and makes rude comments at you. I highly recommend to go somewhere else, I cannot stress this enough, even if you go to publix down the road and pick up ice cream and get your own toppings, cones, etc. and have some family time putting it together and serving yourself to make it how you want and prevent these ------ from ruining your night and taking your money.

Let me start off my saying that Scoops is always one of my first stops when I visit Port Charlotte numerous times of the year. I was so eager to get my favorite ice-cream I ended up dragging my whole family with me. Pros: Delish ice-cream..... RATING WAS for the ice-cream- Normally a 5 if it wasn't for the service. Cons on this visit only: Rude service from the moment we walked in, almost immediately the girl asked if it was going to be one check without saying Hello, welcome NOTHING.. then when we said that one lady wasn't part of our group she said in a Huff.. what can I get you, we said why don't you get this ladies first since she is party of one. She got her ice cream but never rang her up instead started getting our order and then the lady was like are you going to ring me up and the girl said I thought you were with them and we all said no, we didn't say that. She told her male coworker that she had to wipe out the order because we said she was with us and then continued to ask what else we needed as if she was extremely busy. If I didn't have my son and grandson with me I would of asked to speak to the owner/manager as its a family business so I hope the girl that gave us rude service wasn't part of the family as that will turn off customers. The only thing is this is the only place in the area for good ice cream so if you can withstand rude service then bite the bullet and enjoy the most delish ice cream ever!

While the ice cream was decent...for the price...I would rather pay a dollar more and have Kilwins. Besides the ice cream being just OK...we spent $23 on ice cream for 7 people it definitely wasn't worth what we paid. Signage is bad. Location is not well lit. Service was TERRIBLE. I came into it via the drive-thru which I didn't see any other option. Told them out of the gate I had never been there before and needed help knowing what to order and for information. The woman broke out an attitude and was less than helpful or friendly and she made the so-so experience just awful. I about drove off but because everyone talked about this place we hung in there. In the future...there is parking in the back...don't pull in the drive thru...use access road and go "inside" (which is only big enough for about 3 people) and deal with them that way. I doubt we will be back.

Everyone in town and a few towns over knows of this delicious place. I have been going here since I was a little kid and I am never disappointed. The mint chocolate chip ice cream is absolutely heavenly; so much so that I try to make sure there are not angels behind the counter making it (so far no wings but pretty sure I saw one of them levitating off the ground). Simply, the place is magical. I have also had the black cherry, rum raisin, italian ice, ice cream soda, banana splits, soft serve etc. I have had a lot and they are always absolutely delicious. Also, one time I was getting drive thru with my dad and he tipped his hand towards himself and the ice cream was about to fall on his pants and the lady who was serving him caught the ice cream that fell right before it got on him (as in straight up palmed a scoop of mint chocolate chip). Some say she is still catching ice cream til this day. As I approve of ninjas making frozen delights I will have to visit here again and again. If you are looking for a place that is consistently amazing go here. If you want mediocre ice cream I suggest you stay away.

Ice cream was about average..... Was just the working cow brand ice cream..... You can get that about anywhere....... Took forever to get my ice cream ......Was not a lot of people there and the flies and mosquitoes ate more than I did..... Next time I will go for the indoor place on 776 that serves the Big Olaf Amish ice cream

Excellent ice cream and an unreal assortment of flavors. It was our first time here today, and we will definitely be back!

It was ok. Read all the reviews about how fantastic it is and I found it to be just average. It was clean and friendly and decent but nothing phenomenal. we will go back because even average ice cream is yummy.

Without a doubt the best ice cream I have ever had. It does not get any better than this. I believe that they make their own, and the way they make the chocolate ice creams is completely to die for. Chocolate Mint Oreo is completely life changing. It could easily be a nightly stop if you let it.

Simply amazing ice cream and flavors, however- the staff consistently is rude/short. Customer service is obviously not their thing . I bet if they worked on an inviting environment where the customers who create business are more appreciated, then they would do even better then they already are. Their ice cream is hands down some of the best though.

This place is ridiculous! Thank goodness I was only visiting as I could see it turning into a really problem if I lived there full time! A quaint little shop that has a drive thru as well, but I don't know how you could ever go through it because there are so many choices of ice cream inside! We went twice while in town. The first time, I did the double scoop of pistachio almond and it was so good. The second time I did a scoop of banana pudding and a scoop of cocunut. Very reasonably priced too. This place is a must stop for anyone going by it. So long, Scoops! I will be back again!

It's hard to find places with great home made ice cream. This is one of the few. There are more flavors then you'll get the chance to order, but you can't make a wrong choice at Sweet Scoops.

This place has the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. I usually get the moose track or bday cake flavors. My husband really likes the butterscotch shakes. We come here about once every other weekend just as a special treat. We no longer buy grocery store ice cream because it doesn't even taste close. To describe the taste in more detail, it's very creamy and not too sweet. The flavors are rich and real. YUMMY!!! The only bad thing is that this place is ridiculously expensive.

Awesome homemade ice cream! I had a waffle cone with a scoop of mint Oreo and a scoop of cookie dough. My fiance had a waffle cone with a scoop of coffee Heath and a scoop of cookies and cream. He said the cookies and cream was incredible! I liked the mint Oreo but it was a very strong mint flavor that almost overpowered my huge chunks of cookie dough. You will have a hard time deciding which flavor you want! We asked for a couple of samples and I can confirm that the banana pudding (which has vanilla wafer chunks) and the orange-pineapple are also tasty. By the way, they gave us HUGE samples! There are a few stools inside to sit on and several seats outside. We went at like 8:30 at night and were nearly eaten alive by mutant giant mosquitoes while sitting out front. We enjoyed the last half of our ice cream inside the safety of a Toyota Solara. I think it was a good value for the quality of ice cream we had: two waffle cones each with two scoops of ice cream for $7.50.
